Life Lessons for Children - Dealing with Moves and Other Big Transitions
Caspian & Breeze was reviewed on Amazon by Jaslynn Kenyattaon on March 25, 2017.
In Caspian and Breeze, the children’s story written by author Gunay Moon, some daring seagulls fly out of their comfort zone and explore a new part of the world they have never visited before. Caspian and Breeze are two young seagulls from the same flock who are faced with the challenging situation of making a move to a new home. The story, which is brought to life by Timur Deberdeev’s colourful illustrations, shares how each of these young seagulls deals with this new transition in their lives.
If you’re looking for a way to prepare your child for a new move or a change in their life, this story provides a great tool to discuss some of the feelings your child might have when faced with making a big transition. At the same time, it describes an interesting part of the world with enough detail to spark you little explorer’s imagination!

While the authors suggest the audience range to be children ages 3 – 12, I’d suggest reading this along with your younger children. The vocabulary is a bit complex, and younger children may have a few questions about the story along the way. This children’s story is a good read and a great starting point for a conversation with your children about adjusting or dealing with changes!

A Modern Day Children's Fairytale with Outstanding Illustrations - Not just a Boring eBook!
Samuel the Sycamore and Isabelle the Ivy was reviewed by Jaslynn Kenyattaon on March 25, 2017.
Samuel the Sycamore and Isabelle the Ivy shares the tale of a proud ivy, Isabelle, who learns a lesson about humility from a tree names Samuel the Sycamore. Even though this children’s story is in e-book format, the colourful green pages and the fairy-tale like illustrations from Fidan Kim give the pages the appearance of a classic children’s fairy-tale or folklore book. Not only are the pages beautifully designed, but the morals and insights shared in the story make the story that much wonderful.
This children’s story makes for a wonderful story time book with pictures you and your children can enjoy and provides a great opportunity for you to talk with your children about pride, humility, the gift of friendship, bullying, and learning to be thankful for the people in your life.
Author Gunay Moon has done an amazing job of crafting a beautiful tale in his book Samuel the Sycamore and Isabelle the Ivy, and you and your children are bound to learn a lot from it!

Samuel the Sycamore and Isabelle the Ivy

This is a tale of hubris versus humility. Isabelle the Ivy has grown close to Samuel the Sycamore and climbed high on his canopy. Despite her advantage, because of the sycamore, Isabelle disrespects him. When the ivy loses Samuel, she realizes that she will never climb high again. The story further describes how Isabelle's predicament gradually changes her outlook of life.
